Cleaning your executive furniture wood surfaces is easy. To clean them, use a soft dry cotton cloth. Do not use the microfiber cloths as these can attract and hold dirt that can scratch the wood surface. Use a dry cotton cloth to wipe off finger prints and smudges. If there are tougher stains or dirt that needs to be removed, then lightly dampen a cotton cloth to clean off the dirt, and then use a soft dry cotton cloth to wipe up the moisture and finish the cleaning. It’s important to wipe in the direction of the wood grain only.
If dampening the cloth with water alone does not clean the surface, then lightly dampen it with a mild diluted soapy solution to clean off the dirt, and finish with a dry soft cotton cloth, always wiping in the direction of the wood grain only. Use another cloth dampened with water only to wipe off the soapy film, then a dry cloth to finish. If you are still unable to remove the dirt, then put some diluted Windex (1 part Windex to 2 parts water) onto a clean cotton cloth (not the desk) to remove the dirt. Finish with a clean dry cotton cloth.
Do not use wax based furniture polishes like Pledge on the wood surface, as these cause a buildup of wax on the surface that easily smudges and show fingerprints. The buildup of wax on the wood surface has a slight haze that dulls or clouds the luster of the wood grain.
